Let's Talk Turmeric!

Turmeric is that bright orange rhizome related to ginger that gives curry it's famous color. But did you know that in India, where they consume way more curry and turmeric than Americans and Europeans do, people are almost 4.5 times less likely to develop dementia like Alzheimer's disease than their Western counterparts? In fact, the World Health Organization estimates that the total number of people worldwide with dementia is projected to be 75.6 million by 2030 and almost triple to 135.5 million by 2050. And today, more than $100 billion is spent on health care to treat Alzheimer's Disease in primary care settings in the U.S. alone.

We'll be diving deep over the next several blog posts to explore turmeric's role in reversing the disease process, but for starters take a look at this infographic I put together and be sure to share it with your loved ones!
